I just bought HIDS and installed them from apexcone, and when i turn them on the ballast are making a low humming sound, is that normal? or should i send them back

 

thats normal.. nothing is wrong

Analog ballasts hum... digital ballasts do not hum...

 

yea, i have digital from MobileHID and they are silent.

 

I have a different brand of HID's and mine do the same thing. It goes away after a min or two.

 

yeah digital ballasts use a circuit board while analogue ballasts use capacitors and things like that. Which is why they make that high pitch humming noise. I'm kinda thinkin about getting the Digital Ballasts from mobilehid but i think i'm just gonna wait for my current mobilehid kit to die before i get another.

 

My Digitals hum a little.
