Tire Suggestion
Getting new wheels + tires soon, but been dodging back and forth between Yokohama ES100, Kumho 711 and Kuhmo 712.
Anyone have these tires, or have any suggestion/comments?
Thanks.

I have 711's on my box. They're good tires for the price. So far so good in the heavy rain in Southern California. I only have ~2,800 miles on them so far, so I'm not sure about the real-world tread life...but they should be pretty good.
Noise levels are acceptable, as is handling. I haven't really pushed this car, that's what my IS300 is for. I have S03's on that one.
I chose 711's mainly because of their price, but I did research tires prior to making the purchase. More info can be found here:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....odel=ECSTA+711
With the exception of snow, which you probably don't get in Sacramento, all ratings are excellent.
711's and 712's are pretty similar. Go with the 711's if you wanted a tab bit more comfort, and the 712's if you wanted a tab bit more performance. The 712's are probably about $10-15 more per tire too.
Hope that helps!
Erik

I'm running the Sumitomo HTR Z-II 215/40ZR17 They've been really good so far. Not too noisy, holding up good so far. Really grippy on dry, so far pretty good on the wet - no complaints...
According to Tirerack.com, the Yokohama ES100 are better at stopping distance, brake modulation and stability than the sumitomo HTR-ZII and Kumho 712's
Whats most important to me is the tread wear rating! I have my eye on the Falken Ziex ZE-512's because they have a 360 treadwear rating and come with a 30000 mile warranty- thats pretty good for a 18" tire
also I have heard the yokohoma prada-spec- 2's are good, but have a low treadwear rating!

I've been told that the Spec-2's are LOUD tho, I was going to get a set but now I'm looking at the Kumho ECSTA ASX , Treadwear rating of 420, 30K Warranty, scored higher on the Noise Comfort rating part of the consumer survey.
i have the Nankangs NS-II and those are pretty cool tires...i really like that they are not that noisey...nice ride with them...i have 19's on my box...and those tires are pretty good in price and they are pretty good on tread...well i know it wasn't in one of your picks...but just would like to help you out with money wise...
Based on what choices you gave us--I would reccomend the Yokohama ES100. It is an overall better tire than the other two choices.
I also think that it costs a little more, which is reasonable if you are looking for more of a performance tire...the 711 is more of an everyday all season, while the 712 is a budget performance tire.
It all depends on what you want out of the tire...but if you can afford them, i'd go with the Yokohamas in this case.

Thanks everyone for all your input. I was originally set on the Yokohamas, but was reading tire rack reviews and seemed kinda mixed.
Does anyone have them right now? If so, how do you like them? Is it really as noisy as everyone claims?

Yup, Parada Spec 2s are noisy, and believe it or not, the tread compound on the EVS or is it AVS, 100s, are the same. I had some Kuhmo's before and they wore nicely, and weren't too loud. The NeoGens aren't that loud either, to me anyway.

but for real tho im looking for a good street tire for the wheels im getting something that'll wear pretty nicely and something that isn't too loud.
