Default is tinting the lights a good idea??

i wanted to tint my tail lights, mirror signal lights and third brake..

but i hear smoking is the way to go..

the reason why i wanted to go with tinting is that, you can always take it off.. and if you mess up putting it on, then its not as bad as when you mess up smokingthe lights..

on the negative side, i hear, there a possiblity that rain can get in between the tint too..

what do you think??

Lol I've Smoked mine 3 times to get it perfect.. Its all on you. In my opinion smoking it with spray paint looks way better than using tint film, ONLY IF you do a good job smoking it. Take your time and you should be able to do it right the first time.

But than again it depends where you live. My city doesnt give a f*ck about tints. Good luck to ya.

smoke it. you can remove the tint when you smoke them, that's what I did when my first pair started to fade, I removed the old paint and used VHT the second time. I've had mine for uhhhh. Half a year maybe, haven't gotten pulled over yet, I've had cops tail gate me and he didn't do anything. Even got a speeding ticket and the cop didn't say anything about the tail lights.

I don't understand your difference between "smoking" and "tinting." I say yes, it makes a big difference and looks good. I've never had a problem with water getting in there.

If it looks like ScionJim's I wouldn't mind because you can clearly see when the car is breaking due to the LED's not being tinted, so that is one of the acceptable tints/smokes that you can do.

Plus it looks clean :D

Thanks checho10....I think having my LED's open like that is the only reason cops have not bothered me.

tinting is the way to go. easy to take off if you get pulled over. inexpensive so you can put it right back on after your hearing. lol

x2. It's guaranteed to look good. I don't get any water in mine either. Get a thick, dark tint. Not that thin paper-like stuff bluebat sells. I had mine professionally done for $25/side. (friend of the family).

Spray painting is scary, but can look great if you know what you're doing.

Well mine aren't "tinted" in the above pic . It's a custom paint job using a candy grey.blue tint with many buffed clear coats. not easy to remove...if at all...oops. o well. I love them anyways. cops look at it but don't do much.
