I know nothing about tires 215/45/ZR17 help please
The lovely dealership gave me 215/45/ZR17 tires. I didn't want or need the special wheels but I was in a bind and needed a car fast. This was the only one in the area with other requirements I did have. Anyway, I've been trying to find tire prices on pepboys.com and the like, and I'm not finding them. I know the Z has something to do with a rating, so buying new Z tires aren't necessary, right? What are my other options for buying new tires? Also, anyone know if I need special tire chains since low-profile tires are so skinny? I really need to buy some chains quick.
Much thanks for anyone who can help me.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I've read some of the retarded responses from a previous chain question. I didn't pick the wheels. If I had a choice, I would have asked for snow tires, but like I said, I was in a pinch. Anyone that would rather gripe about the tires I have than help me out, thanks but no thanks.

I've been to the linked sites from tires.com and when I pull up 2004 Scion xB, my size tire is not listed. I wouldn't doubt that the dealership put a very wrong size tire on my car, since there's a lot of rubbing going on.
So are my tires replaceable by a 215/45/17 then? Do I need the ZR or R?
I seriously know zilch about tires. What are my options for getting this thing up in the snow then? Besides towing of course. Would I need all new wheels, or can I buy a different size tire for snow?

I have the the stock xB tires & wheels on right now for winter. I can't believe the dealer didn't give you the stock wheels. If you get custom wheels from the dealer I got my car from, they give you the stock one's too. I would look at just buying some stock Scion wheels & tires off ebay or on this site.

Wanna take a guess at the size of my spare?

And about the spare, if you have to use it, don't drive far.
