Default Mods on a brand new car, yay or nay?

I was looking for a 1st gen xB until I drove one. They are a bit too tight for me, being 6'4 240 can be a disadvantage. I went down to the dealer and I threw down my hard earned cash on a RS6 after driving a 2nd gen. I'm waiting for it to come in so I'm starting to think about some mods. I'm not going too wild to start, just a CAI, header and exhaust. Would these be ok to install on day 1, or should I wait to get some miles on it? Thanks!

Hey, Congrats on the RS.6 def a sick color.

Def sounds like a great start to the moding. Def Some lowering springs and Wheels and your good to go. After those performance mod's that 2.4 def will get up and go.

I would hold off for a bit and break in the engine. Springs and wheels you can do on day one. I would wait though on the exhaust and CAI

Thanks for the tips guys. The springs and wheels will be installed by the dealer before pick up. I'm going with the TRD springs because the box will be a DD. I'll probably wait a few weeks for the other mods. I'm giong to switch to Mobile1 and change the gearlube to a full synthetic. I'll make a day of it doing the mods.

TerribleTed, that box is pure sex! Deffinatly something to be proud of! I just noticed your sig. I had a Corvair Corsa back in highschool. It was a rat but I had fun with it.

sizzlinscion, it wasn't the head or leg room I didn't like. I felt too tight in the shoulder room sideways. Besides, I want a RS and everything I found arround here was pretty beat. I'm going to keep looking for a RS4 to build into a show car, but not for a DD.

I was about to say, height and weight might be similar, but your body types might be different. A girl my height and weight still might have larger shoulders, bigger or smaller hips, different rib cage size, different leg and torso length...all that makes a difference in how you fit in a vehicle, especially on the taller side of the spectrum.

After your first oil change, I'd do a Weapon R Secret Weapon on it, and a TRD short shifter with NST. Those have been my two favorite mods to date. About $300 for a noticeable difference in driving sound and feel. If you bought an auto, my first mod would be to bring it back and get the 5 speed. LOL!

The reason I have to wait is because they didn't have a 5-speed in stock. It was in transit so no firm date for delivery. I am going to have the TRD short shifter installed by the dealer so I don't have to mess with it. Also the TRD springs to start. The WI roads arround here aren't the best so I'll start with a mild drop.
