Cut the stoppers??? Goldline ride height?? Problem???
I just installed my goldline spring in my 2005 xb last night and I forgot to cut the stopper.. Do I need to take apart to cut them or can I just push the boot up and cut them on the car??? do you need to cut the top or the bottom or does it matter?? also I have 215x35x18 inch tires and what is the height from the ground to the center of you wheel lip?? please let me know I dont think mine went down 2 inches.. The ride is def better than stock..I read this several time but could not believe it but it is true a little softer than stock. My fender measures 25 inches from ground to center of fender lip?? what about you guys and wil the spring settle anymore?? Please let me know thanks.
If you read the goldline box it says to cut the stoppers one inch.. I called goldline today and they said the spring will not settle they were at there lowest point in just a few hours.. I was asking the question to see if anyone else has had a different experience.. let me know thanks.
I am a veteran of 12 goldline spring installs and I cut the snubbers on all of them, goldlines recommends it, I use a electric knife takes a couple of seconds.
You push the boot up if you don't want to take the strut off again, but you will end up spending the same amount of time if you took the strut off.

The bump stops don't affect the ride height, what they do is provide a cushioning when you hit the bottom of the strut throw. If you don't cut them, it will not allow the strut to travel as far and you will hear the suspension bouncing off the bump stops more than they should. Hear and feel...
