Default Questions on air bags.

Please help if you can.
I am going to be trying to put air bags on my box here soon and i need to make sure i am doing the right thing. By this i mean i am doing it so i can drive around town safely.
I have a body kit on that makes my ride so low that i can't drive any where without being in fear of ripping my car to pieces. Taking the body kit off is not an option so please help on any comments or suggestions. Thanks.

Now my question, can you set air bags to a specific hieght so that you don't crush your body kit when lowering it?
I have been told it is easier to make it go higher than it is to make it go lower (wheel wells.)

If not does this mean that i have to fabricate some type of frame that will allow the car to rest on something other than the body kit.

Another stupid question, how high can i get my car to sit when the bags are full.

Also is there a company out there that is reputable enough to make the bags safe enough for long distance road trips, and for a every day driver?

Please help. I do not know anything on this subject and it is starting to look like my only way out of my oh so low problems.

I have bags on my xb and I have the kenstyle urban kit and the car is still about 2 inches off the floor. I doubt that your body kit will sit on the floor unless you have small rims or get a completley custom setup. So you should be cool with any of the setups out there.

Well i am only 2 to 2 1/2 inches of the ground. ANd i am sitting on 19"s. I am just afraid of what may happen if it slams the bodykit.
I really appreciate the help.

What setup are you useing?

you could fab spacers for the airbag bracketry. Then when fully dropped, you wont crush the kit, and when inflated, will be tall as a *****.

I'd bet the easiest way would be to build some type of bump stop. There are a couple places you could weld a plate w/ a rubber peice to that when you droped down it could stop the travel at the point you wish. The back would be real easy, the front a little harder. Plus with 19's in the front your not going to get real low before your tires are getting into the top of the wheel wells.

On stock springs your kits only 2 inch of the ground? what kind of kit is so low?

I have tien s tech so i am lower than stock, but that is only because it dosn't look right with the tires not sucked up into the wheel well. And i have the andy's autosport body kit. Which i would not recomend to anyone.

Here is a pic of it so you can get an idea. It is lower than it apears, but you should see my point i hope.

crabs, shoot me and email, and we'll hook up maybe this weekend, and you can see my setup, and we can brainstorm some ideas.

use bumpstops and youll be fine. Theyre easy to make for the front and the rears can just be left stock.

For a complete true bolt on kit i say Airrunner if you can afford it. 1. Its safe to drive daily and it doesnt ride like an old cadi. 2. its a true complete bolt on set up no welding involved.

Check out there site:
www.airunner.co.jp
Check out the dealers in your area
Im reppin Autofashion wich can get you the kit and have it sent out to you.
