Any brand recommendations ? Are all created equal ?

 

I've seen alot of people going with Goldlines and Tein.... You first should figure out how much of a drop you want and then go for the brand that has what your looking for.

 

1.5 to 2" nothing drastic

 

i would say go for gold line then it gives an over all 2" drop and its nice..... u can get them for about $150 from scionspecialist tell him Jr from utah sent u.

 

I'm using TOM'S lowering springs but if I have to change 'em, I'd go with the Tanabes.

 

What brands should be avoided?

 

E-Bay brands....... most of the time......

Are the springs easy to install?

 

OMG!!!!!!!!! yes there is even a wright up on the tech section of this site. i did it and i have never ever taken anything majer of the car like the springs and struts... i have only gone as fare as changing the oil. but this was so easy i gave it a go. so u should have no problems..... trust me to when i say Gold Line give the best drop overall. IMO.

I like my TRD springs, but then again, what ever you like.

 

For the best drop and better handling in the corners, I would recomend the RS*R springs hands down!! Even loaded down with all kind sof stuff and people, my car never sags with the RS*R springs on! 2 in drop with no problems, at all! :D

 

Goldlines or Tanabes, when you look at quality, drop, and price, followed by TEIN. Just my opinion. I would rather have coilovers.

 

tanabe's here .. will do air bags or hydros next.. but tanabes has a nice drop.
