Default Wheels and Offset

ok, we're picking up our new tC next weekend, and it will be my wife's car primarily. She has been really looking into things she can change on it, we've already got the simple stuff (shift ****, pedals, door sills etc) from McGeorges and now she's looking at wheels. I've created a monster! She really likes the Motegi DP5s in gun metal, and I'm wondering if they would fit ok. I don't know much about how offsets work. I know the 5x100 pattern is ok, but they have a 42 offset. I think the stock 17s on the tC are 5x100 with a 45 offset, am I right? Will the 42 offset make a big difference if the car isn't lowered? What if we dropped it 1.2" with the TRD springs? Here are the DP5s in gunmetal if anyone is interested...I'm hoping they will look nice on a FM tC.

Fitting the wheels on won't be a problem, but if you don't mind me asking how much is your wheel and tire package.

Since we're staying with 17s, we'll probably just keep the stock Potenzas (assuming that's what our tC comes with, I know some people got Yokos). We're looking about about $720 shipped.
