Suspension Question
Last time when i ask this, i open my mouth and switch foot..
Let hope i get it right this time
On a xA..... What should i expect from Coilover. (Tein for Example) Ride comfort wise?
As compare to just (TRD)spring. With a Coilover, does this mean i don't need the spring?

Coilovers = springs and shock/strut combo = adjustable ride height, more sporty handling

totally depends on the spring rates of the springs on the coilovers, and the shock valving of the coilovers.
the TRD springs are not very stiff, the ride is still quite comfortable

yes.
a coilover is usually a shock/spring combo, along with a threaded spring perch alloying for ride height adjustability, and sometimes the shocks are adjustable.
you could also get TRD or Koni shocks, and ground control springs which also have a threaded spring perch and do the same thing.
if ride height adjustabililty is important to you, coilovers are a good option.
if it is not, springs and shocks will probably do what you want for a bit less money. It is up to you to figure out how to match the springs/shocks properly though.
tein s tech....not stiff....i could compress the tein's much farther with my body weight then i could the stock springs....the stock springs are MUCH stiffer then the tein s tech's....i own them....the car rides much smoother....bumps are not as sharp when i go over them....car handles much much better....cant say 1 bad thing about them....im running the eibachs on my civic....both are very good springs....for my xB the tein's were the better choice when i asked around from some friends around here who own them.....plus the spring drop is .2 lower in the front....instead of lower in the back like the eibach's....why did eibach do that anyway? just my 2cents if it helps anyone....
I am looking for the best ride comfort possible, since this is going to be my next dialy commuter. Lexus's ride if possible. :o
BTW: Would dealer install stuff not sold thru them? If not, anyone know an "Honest" shop up by my way? website
PS:Still have not decided, narrow my choices to xA, tC or civic LX. Not a Mz3 thou, Just not a real bargin..

Think about it this way--no springs can be better than a full coilover setup--a quality one that is, because they actually mate an appropriate spring to a specialized shock, in order to create a perfect match for the vehicle.
I'm on Tein Coilovers--and it is much much smoother than my SPY springs.
