sry Im a noob and Im not sure where to ask thism but if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Would 235/45/18 size tires fit on 18x8.5 rims and also will 18x8.5 rims fit on the tC ok or will I need to use a different offset.

 

45 series tires is too thick, your odometer and speedometer will be off and you'll have rubbing issues. 35 is usually the recommended tire to go with.

 

I don't think 8.5" wheels would fit on the tC regardless of the offset.

 

Wrong. 8.5 wheels DO fit on the scion tC with a 48mm offset. No issues of rubbing.

Clayton1, 235-245 are the way to go. If you're seriously going tt buy 18x8.5 then you have to get wider tires.

Btw, the offset on the rims are 48mm the rim size is 18x8.5.

 

Btw, everyone you ask on here if 18x8.5 will fit will tell you no. Based on what? Experience? Nobody on here has ran 18x8.5 with a 48mm offset.

Ok... here are my questions:
Can you run an 18" x 8" wheel with a +35 offset without it rubbing? Please tell me if you or someone you know is running this without problems.

If you have an 18" x 7.5" wheel with a +35 offset, will it be set in too far or will it be flush?

18x8.5 with a 48 will fit just fine, the same as a 17x8.5 will and it has been done, it would work with a 19 as well.

235 or 245 width is ok, 45 height is way to tall unless you want to change your gearing, not a bad idea but you possibly could rub when turning with wheels locked to the right or left.
Your speedo would be off as well unless you buy and adaptor to correct it.

35 series would be more appropriate, in a 245, may be ok with a 235/40 though, not terribly off.

18x8 +35 will work perfectly and you would go with a 235 or even 225.

I have 17x8 with 235/40/17 tires +35, looks sweet, low weight. normally that is a bit wide on an 8 but they worked out really well, will post pics soon.

thanx for the help everyone. I thinkin about getting some 235/40/18 nitto nt 555 tires or some pirelli p-zero nero's. Im looking for a good tire in the rain as well as dry. Something that you can take to the track but will last for a while. I would rather have longer tread life than extreme performance. Do yall have any other recomendations for tires or do you think that these will work?

 

225/40/18 I use... and yes I have 18x8.5 axis reverbs.... fit and look perfect! No issues

 

so what did everyone go with? I'm changing wheel/tire setup which is a 18x7.5 +48 offset with a 225/40/18 dropped on Tein Stech, with no rubbing whatsoever. The wheels I want are 18x8 with a +48 offset. I'm looking for a tire with a 235 or 245 with in either 35 or 40 series.
