Default Window Tint!? Post pic here Non-Black color!

Hello guys. I have a question. I see my XB have factory tint but I want different color tint on my XB. I wanted the one that look green and yellow. I do not know what it called but let just say I want blue tint on all the windows. Is that possible? Can you take the factory tint out and put on a blue tint? or tint the front to match the back and put another layer of blue tint? New non-tinted windows? I really don't want black window tint. Please help me out here. Thank you.

you would proabably have to get new windows because when i asked the guy about customizing some tribal flames throught the car, he said the windows are are chemical tint made inside with the glass.

All the factory tint is actually colored glass. It cannot be taken off, and replacement windows without the tint are quite difficult to find, I think they have to be imported.

Imported from Japan at great expense actually.

I recall someone here having done it. I don't remember who though.

Everyone in the thread above me is right, the coloring in the xB rear windows cannot be removed. It's just plain jane colored glass.

As far as the tribal pattern idea, you could use an "R20" or "SS20" architectural type chrome film and apply that on the glass, you'll be able to see a faint ghost design, but that's about it. As far as COLORS. Nope, not gonna happen without all new windows. The problem is that all automotive window films need to be applied to the inside of the glass. Because of that, any film you apply will be BEHIND the 'black' colored glass and all you will see from the outside is a darker black window - although from the inside, the windows would have a hue of whatever color it was that you applied. But only from the inside - as the film layer is the first layer you would be seeing (opposite problem of the outside view).

As far as the 'all new windows' approach. Yes it is possible, yes they are DOT approved and just as perfectly safe as USDM glass. Here's the hook though... if you were to order the clear NCP30 version glass, it will take 2-3 months to arrive (comes on a boat with a regular Toyota cars/parts shipment), costs a few grand - and if you ever break one ... it's another 3 months wait for a replacement.

Currently, as far I know, I'm the only one to have bought the all clear versions in the US. I have all the part numbers and my contact if anyone still has to have them.

All the photos I have in any websites are pics with USDM glass - no as of yet existing photos with JDM glass. Although I WILL be tinting those also, got something in mind with it (if for no other reason to see how many fools start saying "photoshop! looks totally fake and not a very good one either!").

May be a little while, but it's coming. I've been a little tied up removing all the seude off all the pillars and getting them perfectly smooth for some HL paint. - Gotta have something to look at when peaking through that clear glass....

I removed the suede off the pillars becuase the headliner is black suede, the seats are black suede & leather - and with the pillars - it was just to much. It was just a lot of black, and with the new windows going in I think it would make everything look like there was no detail as it would all just be one running flat black color. Really needed to make a color break between the bottom and top 1/2's of the interior.
