Default RockBlocker Headlight Protection (xB)

In this tutorial, I will be explaining how to apply RockBlocker Headlight Protection on the Scion xB. Thanks to Omar (ikhonlord) and Tony (h82blgl) of Team ScioNRG for their help.

Out of the Package:
2x RockBlocker Protective film for the xB
Application card/squeegee
Instructions
Various RockBlocker Protective film samples

Tools Needed:
Razor blade
Glass cleaner
Paper towels
Heat Gun/Hair Dryer (optional)
Patience

I recommend reading the enclosed instructions to have a general feel of what the installation entails.

Open the package of light covers and separate them.

Clean the headlights thoroughly with glass cleaner and paper towels.

1. Starting with the driver side headlight, make sure you are using the correct headlight protective film before removing the paper backing of the film. Also, make sure not to touch the adhesive side other than the tabs.

2. Start from the inside of the headlight. Hold the film by the tabs and slowly peel the paper backing. Do not peel it back all the way, though.

3. Align the film with the headlight and apply it onto the headlight in sections using the squeegee to prevent goof-ups.

4. When you get to the signal portion of the headlight, make sure not to leave any gaps or bubbles.

5. Continue applying the film over the signal portion until the end of the headlight.

6. Using the squeegee, apply the film over the top and bottom of the signal portion.

You may want to use a heat gun or hair dryer to make the film more pliable.

7. Once you have applied the film to the whole headlight, carefully use a razor to cut off the excess film from around the headlight.

8. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to re-activate the adhesive around the edges of the headlight. Heat the edges and press them down firmly to help seal them.

Repeat the instructions 1 through 8 when applying the film to the passenger side headlight.

Here are the results. You can't even see them, but they are there! :D

Actually, I have an xA. Kaeon only offered xB overlays (I have logs!), so I sent them to Omar (ikhonlord) to do the actual install and asked him to take pictures. Omar already had another company's headlight protection on his xB, so he gave them to his clubmate Tony (h82blgl). Thanks again to Omar and Tony for the great installation pics!
