Default Strut Problems

If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to put my stock suspension back in until I get my refund. I already put the rear springs in and am having a terrible time with the front struts. I first removed the air strut and had my buddy chris put the bearing plate back on the factory strut. I then inserted the top of the strut in place and put a coupl eof nuts on just hand tight to hold it in place. Then, I pushed down on the steering knuckle to line up the strut to the knuckle, with NO LUCK. The I took the sway bar end link off to allow the lower control arm to drop down more. This still didn't help, so I tipped the leaned the steering knuckle out towards myself in order to allow the strut to slide into place. I got the bottom bolt in and when I went to tip it inward to get the other in, I heard a clunk, the end of the axle pulled out IM GUESSING, and it was hitting on the boot. Let's just say I'm still looking in my front yard for a few tools. I went inside to sit and rethink my strategy. I came back out and leaned the knuckle out a bit more, and the axle when right back in. By this time, I don't know what to think. Im am stuck and I am not sure if the axle should be allowed to do this. PLEASE ADVISE!!!!

I think this is crap that we can't see anything technical until we have 50 posts. what is all that about? I come here when I need help and I can't get it? How communist is that to keep information from the very people who need it the most?

Communist? You can get access to the service manuals if your a Premium Member. Sounds more like Capitalism, to me.

Hope someone can help you with your problem...

See, that's what I love about communism, everybody thinks they owe them something.

The axle should pull out like that. Just make sure it didn't rip the boot. If it went right back in your should be ok. BTW if you use a long crow bar or something to push the lower arm down it makes putting the struts in alot easier.

Mostly, I just need to jack up the other side, my buddy chris helped out with that one. Finally got all the factory crap back in, I went to get an alignment cuz i could feel the toe is off. I can hear the tires grabbing on the freeway. the dealer tried to tell me it was fine, but I knew I had aligned it after I bagged it, but I wasn't gonna tell them that.
