for those of you who have/tested these tires, what's your input on them? i want to upgrade to 18" axis hiros and when you order directly through axis, you get the option of adding nitto neo gens with the wheels so i want to know how these tires ride

 

I run nitto neo gens on my wife's xb. They are great. I have had them since they came out. No problems, good handling and great wear.

 

For everyday driving the NeoGens are what I run on my xB. Really good in the wet on freeways and seems to last a while.

Keith auto-x'd his tC w/ them, and said they were great everyday tires, but could use something stickier next time for auto-x'ing.

 

I am running these as well and I would not buy again. I had one fail with a little under 20k on them. Other than that they seem to be ok.

 

good for daily driving. For about 15 bux more per tire you can get Yokohama ES100 or Parada Spec 2's, which will totally outperform the neo gens. neo gens are supposedly better for tread wear. my old gti had alot of negative camber, and the neo gens did very wheel in keeping the tread even.

 

im looking for tires that will handle well in dry and wet conditions since i live in florida. i was reading a topic and someone suggested nitto neo gens, some hankook r-s2.

what would you guys recommend for someone who likes to accelerate quickly in both weather conditions (though im more careful in wet conditions)? i was thinking of pirellis since the upgraded wheels offer them but i want opinions since im not too much of car tech and want to know whats the good stuff.

 

They suck *****. Too much hard rubber in the mix, makes them squeally and squirmy in turns, likes to slip on cement (like driveways). Waste of rubber.

That said, being a Miata owner I'm a whole hell of a lot pickier about tires than the average person. I personally run Yokohama AVS ES100s, and find them to be an excellent buy. Another Miata favourite is the Toyo T1-S (and its replacement, the T1-R). Both of these are probably a bit pricier than the Neo-Gens (though nowhere NEAR "expensive"... for that you'd have to look at things like Pirelli PZERO Rosso Asymmetricos and the like), but well worth the extra few bucks.

 

I'm actually running 18-inch Hiro's with Nitto Neo Gens. They seem really nice so far... pretty decent in the rain too. I'd recommend, but I can't put in much of a word for long-term wear.

 

im acutally running some neo gens as a daily 215/40/17.... they're perfect with negative camber. I constantly check the inner rears every week, and hardly see any tire wear from the camber. I'd definitely recommend these wheels.

 

yeah i've got the negative camber issue as well.. i was thinking of getting a camber adjustment kit for that but i guess i'll wait and see how the wheels wear.

i run em on my xA and i love them so far. ive only had them for about 7000 miles though
