tires?
I got the NS-I and I'm very happy with them.
For some reason the salesperson talked me out of the NS-II
I can only assume because they needed to clear out stock
on the NS-I, but for the price I couldn't pass em up!
I went Autocrossing a few weeks back, and I could keep
up with some of the Miatas!!

toyo overpriced ,
pirelli overpriced
nankang garbage
kumho decent
michellin really good but pretty expensive
most other brands i dont know much about
yokohama avs es100's awesome tirers anywhere from 92-138 a tire for the most commonly used sizes
they are aa traction and a 280-300 wear tire. they actually wear longer than alot of 400 wear tire's i've used.

For general purpose, general use tires I've been very happy with BFG.
When I was into SERIOUS off-roading, I would run nothing else.
Back when I was racing I was usually on Dunlop dogbones or something from Michelin or Yoko (in fact Yoko used to have a VERY good copy of the ol' dogbone).
The blimp tires that came on my box were a poor choice of tire for it, expecially in this area (yes, it rained today, too...).

Not the best picture, I guess I have yet to take one showing off the tread pattern
specifically.
I bought a set of Kumho Ecsta 711s last week for $84 each to replace Pirelli P7000 Supersports. I'm quite impressed so far. They are quieter, smoother, and grip great. Wet traction is superb. The only thing I can't attest to is how they wear.
Goodyear F1s (german made, tire rack, 195-50-15 are pleasing me a lot. The tread is very similar to proto's nans. The traction ratiing is double A. Treadwear rating 280. Summer tire. Great in the rain. Incredible traction. From thirty to 0 in about two car lenghts (have not made a quality measurement
Being undersized in the diameter adds zip to my stock xB. Also makes braking -better, more efficient- (more brake power to the wheel because its lever moment is less than stock by a half inch
