If you are rubbing now, you WILL rub even with a 1" TRD or Tein H Tech springs.

I've never looked into it, but what about stoping into a machine shop and get a quote on getting them to make you some spacers. Nothing fancy like oh the OTG shims, just something to go between the rim and rotor.

I wouldn't know if that would even be safe, but i've seen things of the sort being sold. Couldn't hurt to check out.

It WILL rub, take it from me...

I have 225/40/18 and they rubbed with stock springs. I dropped it 1.6" on Hotchkis springs and the rubbing got MUCH worse. If you plan to drop it (especially 2 inches) you should get slimmer tires.

rubbing will be alot worse on a 225 tire.

just so everyone knows 215/35/18 is exact same size as stock ( virtually) 215/40/18 will be larger and rub more but is significantly smaller than 225/40

just buy the correct tires guys.
