bouncy ride.sux! NEED HELP!
okay so ive had my Goldline 2inch lowering springs for about 8 months now and my ride has been getting worse everyday. i can really feel every little bump so hard. i love the look i mean its nice and low but its a really bouncy and hard ride lately.
i know u can upgrade theschocks and struts to make it better.
anybody know of a good brand, that they have dealt w/ before?
maybe give me some companies and poroducts that have worked for people before?
thanx

There are two brands constantly being thrown out in this forum. If you have the money to spend, you can't beat the Koni (Yellow) adjustables. Do a search and you can find part numbers and retailers. Keep in mind though that these are always on back order and may take a while to get.
If you don't have a lot of money, you can get a set of Monroes. They don't have them on their website yet though. Again, if you search the forum you can get the part number. With that you can get them from pretty much any local auto parts store.

You could go with TRD struts as well. I'm betting the shocks and struts are blown. But you probably already knew that much. Adjustables are always good if you want to spend the money on them. Personally I think you'll be fine with the TRD's. If you are interested let me know.

there are only 4 aftermarket shock/strut options i'm aware of currently...
TRD
Koni
Monroe
Tokico
the tokico HTS are imports and are usually so expensive that you might as well get full coilovers. Also they come with no warranty.
The monroes are the cheapest upgrade option, but I'm unsure how they react with a low drop. However, I believe they do have a lifetime warranty, so that's a plus. Finding them can be a pain though.
Koni yellow are excellent if you can afford them, though the cost of a full set is only slightly below basic coilover sets. The adjustability is a nice touch... but those who don't need it will have trouble justifying the cost.
The TRDs are adjusted for performance (stiffer)... so I don't know how important ride comfort vs performance. The TRDs were primarily for slightly dropped cars (1" drop as per the TRD aftermarket springs). But it should handle the 2" drop fine.
So my suggestion would be:
If you only want ride comfort, go with the monroes (~$170).
If you only want handling, go with the TRDs (~$290).
If you must have the best, or want adjustability, and are willing to spend the money, get the konis (~$530).
I would not suggest the tokico HTS, too expensive and no warrenty, maybe if they were officially released in the US, that might change. However if you ONLY care about adjustability, they are 15-way adjustable as opposed to the Koni 8-way adjustable [i think... or was it 6?] (~$620).
once you get past the 600$ mark you open up a whole new world of options:
Basic Coilovers and cup kits like:
Tein Basics (~$700)
Tanabe S-0C Type-II (~640)
H&R Cup Kits (~$640)
Its too bad the Cup Kit rose so much in price. It was a great buy when it was around the 500$ mark.
All prices here were taken from various sources around the net and various scionlife posts and crosschecked with froogle for pricing. Pricing does not include tax or shipping if applicable.
Primary sources include:

hopupracing.com
tirerack.com
ltbmotorsports.com
I believe the top 3 are scionlife sponsors, I'm not sure about ltbmotorsports
