They're metal. The CF wheels you see on ebay are just wrapped in CF for aesthetic purposes.

 

plus 12lbs is light
but not as light as i would expect from a 15" rim made of CF
there are actually lighter alloy rims... some at 7-8 lbs each

 

Like MAX2K has already said, Those wheels are nor made in real CF guys. There is just no way real CF wheels would be that cheap. Think about it.

All CF wheels you see that sell for under $10,000 per wheel are just CF wrapped alloy wheels.

 

a carbon fiber wheel, if there is such a thing, would weight less than 2 or 3 pounds...maybe even less. I think when they say cf, it's referring to the paint pattern.

 

They make them, but they are ultra, ultra expensive.
