I am about to buy one also. Its sure looks cool at the dealer. I found the local shop that installs them for the dealership. Dealer wants 22oo for the roof and the shop wants 1500...nice savings!

Default sunroof

What I believe the dealers are installing is actually a Webasto sliding sunroof. They have a website with a list of installers throughout the country, so you should be able to find one near you.

Dead on. I asked the place I bought my box from and they gave me the info of all the places in the area to talk to and even who had the lowest install price.

Find a local through here: http://www.webasto.com/

I have the pan sun roor and its awesome the only draw back is that there is wind noise when you hit 35 mph and it gets louder at 60 to 70 mph but if you have the stero up u don't notice it

In Feb. of 05 (when I bought my box) i'll never forget, the dealer charged me $2300.00. But, it did come with the life-time warranty. Hopefullly, before summer rolls-around, I'm gonna have my 48" sun-roof open BOTH-SIDES, It's gonna cost me about $3K extra. By Auto Trim and Design. Yeah, the air-noise is crappy, but when the sun is shining, and half of your passenger's body is hanging out of it, and the stereo blasting.....IT'S ALL GOOD! I say Do-It! OH, and I havent any problems with it yet, and it's been 'bout a year!

Here's the thread about Webasto no longer allowing them to be installed in xBs and be warrantied: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=46245

I've leaned on an xB with one installed and noticed the roof flex due to the crossbeams being cut

Default Panoramic sunroof update

I am having a panoramic sunroof installed today. After reading any and all information that I could find, calling Webasto, talking to the installer, this is what I found.

There was an update to the dealers to correct a wind noise problem. The roof was sagging around the lip of the sunroof and a wind noise was showing up. To correct it 3 side braces were added to stop this problem. Along with a news letter to all dealers explaining the correction.

Webasto on the phone, and the dealer/installer in person, confirmed that the warranty is 3 years parts and labor and covers any damage resulting from any problem.

The dealer has installed this roof since 2004 and has not had the wind problem, and has only had 1 problem with this roof (regardless of car installed in), and that was a broken frame during installation and was not on a Scion.

This dealer does all custom work for Toyota/Honda/Ford dealers from multiple cities in NC.

I hope this helps anyone looking to add this sunroof, The last thing any of us want is to add an option to enhance our cars and end up having a problem.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to lower their car's stuctural rigidity by installing an aftermarket sunroof/moonroof, but that's just me...

Default It's all good!

This is the Hollandia Panoramic Sunroof we offer. Our installer welds in bracing that satisfys the manufacturers concerns. The biggest thing with this unit is the installation. We sell quite a few of them and have not had any problems
