Default i need help with my dream setup! any help is appreciated

ORIGINAL POST:

would it possible to stack these types of wheel spacers?

EDITED POST:

heres what i need help with... i'm planning on getting fender flares that come out around 3" wide. the wheels i am getting are 16x8.5 +25. since they are volks, they dont do any custom offsets like work and ssr. i need help on figuring out how i could get these wheels to be flush with the fender flares. i was thinking of stacking 2 OTG shims AND using 25mm hubcentric spacers. i still dont think that would be enough though.

thanks ahead of time!

contact Mybox he'll do a custom spacer for the size you need so you dont have to space them out by stacking. i would say thats highly unsafe to do, and thast coming from someone with 25 mm studded spacers on their car. contact Sean and see what he can do.

also, what do you need that much spacing for? Widebody or bosozoku styling is all i can imagine!

hahaha. i'm STILL trying to figure out how i can run 16x8.5 +25 (thats the lowest offset they come in) flush with fender flares that are around 3" wide.

sexyguy...
thanks for the info. i'll definately pm mybox. like i said up there ^ i want to run fender flares but the wheels i want are volks and i was told they dont do any custom offsets.
the ones i want only go to +25 and its an 8.5" wheel.

i think i'll rename this topic....

You can only stack the the OTG spacer shims with OTG camber shims. Don't stack 2 OTG spacer shims.

3" past the fenders? You're gonna need about 75mm to be flush. Sounds like a you need a custom spacer. Like Scott said, JDM Palace can probably help you

BTW, which Volk/Rayswheels are you getting? Are they monoblocks? If they are multi-piece, you might wanna double check with MyBoX to see if you can get custom offsets.....

16x8.5?? or 16x8??

I was thinking about those wheels but decided against them since I wanted to stick w/ 17's and not down size to 16's.

i wouldn't stack any spacers, PERIOD. definitely would not be a wise thing to do, especially if they aren't hubcentric.

your other option would be to convert to a 5-lug. i think several japanese companies, including Noblesse if i'm not mistaken make a 5-lug conversion that looks like the H&R spacer but converts 4 into 5-lug (again, if i'm not mistaken the Noblesse one is a 20 or a 24mm?). other companies have this kind of conversion for cars like 240's and such. they aren't great for high horsepower but you won't need to worry about that w/ a scion. this option will give you more variety of rims to choose from.

good luck... in the end they'd look sweet.

^^^That's an idea too. I think that fitment is perfect as-is without flares or spacers.

In fact, If it were me, I'd ditch the flares. Then, I might run 10mm spacers w/ -2deg camber in front and 25mm spacers with -3deg camber in the rear. 195/50 tires and a 100mm drop

heres what mybox said:

Hello Aarron,
I can make you any size spacer you want the widest I have built is 2.5" but I'm sure i can do wider but I need the exact size so I would say get your flares first and then you might find another set of wheels or we should be able to work something out !!
Sean
is there a way of finding out how much inches the wheels will have to go out?

I thought they call it Private MSG,
any way, there is no way any one can tell you exactly howmuch you need to space the wheels out, I mean you have no base measurment to start with, so again I would say get one of the two and go from there !! But hey good luck with your dream project !!

You have to think about what kind of modifications you'll need to do to your fenders. Are you going w/ snap on flares? or going w/ true flares and cutting out your stock fenders? This might dictate what tire diameter you can run and how much stretch you need for clearance.

It seems the best boxes so far with flares have had air suspension, so they don't really need to think of all that. All they needed was to be flush when dumped. They could just ride high, then when they park, just sit the fenders on the tires.

Yeah, I would get the wheels first (the hard part) and see how flush they are to the stock fenders. There could be a lot options just making it ultra flush to the stock fenders with easily available 25mm spacers and camber shims...
