Okay, so you may have read the thread where I was having problems removing the rear drum. Well, I was able to finally get one off. I thought my night was going to look up, but I've run into a major roadblock.

There are a bunch of photos to help illustrate the problem.

Any suggestions/help would be GREATLY appreciated:


The extended studs that come with the 15mm H&R spacers are 20mm longer than the stock studs.


You can see here, I've removed one stock lug.


Here's the lug next to the hub, again, illustrating the difference in length.

The studs are SO long that there isn't enough room to get them into the vacant hole. I've tried every angle possible to get them in the hole.

Right about now, I'm so frustrated with this project that I'm ready to throw the darn things out.

Can I remove the actual center hub itself (e.g. the part that roatates)?

Is there a solution to this problem?

Has anyone else installed H&R 15mm (or greater) rear spacers?

Have you tried rotating the hub to locate the empty hole toward the bottom? Maybe there will be less brake hardware to interfer in that area.

 

Okay, we'll after much work, I finally got it.

Bascially, you have to remove the hub. Unbolt the four bolts holding the hub/drum assebmly, then tap out the center with a hammer. This will allow the center to pop out, and you can insert the longer studs. Then, just bolt it back up.
