Default New at buying wheels/have a $1,000 to spend

Soon I will be getting my SM box, but its going to need some wheels. I want a 17" with a polished lip with either black or gun metal center. I would like to go with a 225/45 or 215/45 tire. Will I have issuses with rubbing? Whats with spacers? Are these something that I need or will the right offset be enough? Tires need to be included with the $1,000 budget. Thanks for the help.

First, you need to be in the TC forum.

Second, if you are wanting 17s, you can most likely reuse your stock tires. If you keep the stock tires you can also invest in some nicer 17s. But if you really want to get aftermarket wheels though I would recommend jumping up to at least 18s. You can probably get some 18s on ebay within your budget, or just save up a couple hundred more and possibly get a nicer set from an online retailer.

Thanks for the pm's guys. I'm digging the rotas, az_pinoy. Sent you a pm. I would like see others. I came acrossed some motegi(sp?) wheels that were more spoked then the rota. They were in a 225/45. Will it rub? I don't what to fender flare or roll. I might drop it too. Just want something I can use now and later if I drop it.

oooh check out my profile...volk gtu(real ones). they are exactly what you're looking for. gun metal red trim around the edge and +30 offset which gives you a lil over 2 inch of polished lip. i can get close to your price but one of the tires probably need to be replaced but i'll include gorilla lugs and otg rear shims(used to make the rear tires more flush with the fenders...looks a lot better when these are on...looks good without 'em too though)
