Default Lowing Springs VS Coilovers

Ok, probably a silly question, but what are the pros and cons of each...... Lowering Springs and Coilovers? If you go with lowing springs is there anything else you need to change and like wise with the coilovers.

and another question, if one was looking for a lower stance and better ride, what is the best and why is it the best and why is the other the worst?

Thanks in advance for the answers

if you get the TRD (WayDo) lowering springs, it is suggested to get the TRD struts and shocks as well for a "more compliant ride"

i bought into it and I'm happy with the the dealer's install.

at least now, I can have fun in the curves and corners :D

It's not necessarily which is the best and which is the worst. The main difference between springs and coilovers are that the coilovers are adjustable. The thing you have to ask yourself is what are you going to use your car for?

I've had both springs and coilovers on my Focus and for me, coilovers are the best for me. I autocross and show a lot so being able to adjust my ride height is important to me. When I'm just driving around everyday, I've got my car set to about a 1.5" drop. When I autocross, I run about 2" and when I go to a show, I slam the thing down at 4". The only drawback is that when you start adjusting your ride height, you're going to throw off your alignment which will tear up your tires. So when I get done playing around at the track or show, I take a lot of measurements to make sure my car is back to it's 1.5" drop so that my alignment is correct.

Another thing to think about is what kind of ride quality you want. Coilovers are going to have a higher spring rate than your standard lowering springs. Most people don't like the ride in my car because my coilovers are so stiff. I love it though. Hopefully that helps you out a bit.

To set up coil overs correctly you need a set of corner weight scales. The car may look like it is the correct height but even 1/4 turn of the adjuster can change your corner weights and make the car handle worse than you expect. Few people take the time to do this but it is necessary to ensure you get all the benifits you pay the $$ for, otherwise you are just stylin'.

Just finished installing the HKS Hipermax WG series coilovers and Hotchkis Sway bars.

I think the WG series will have a better ride than the C series because of the spring design. I hope to test it out this week if the TRD braided brake lines and EBC "Green Stuff" brake pads come in that I ordered.

I will post additional info after getting everything installed and aligned :D :D :D
