Default Question about struts v. recent spring install problem

So i installed some tein s-techs last sunday and yesterday as i came to a stop i heard a spring "bouncing" sound. like it came out of it's seat or something.

then when i opened the hood, i noticed that at full lock on either side, the strut seems to protrude slightly up. is that normal?

I assume you still have the plastic cover on the struts? Are you saying that the whole strut has the ability to move up into the strut tower when you turn lock to lock?

It sounds like you didn't tighten everything all the way down. Did you have the luxury of pneumatic tools, or did you work by hand? Either way I would retighten everything. The three nuts that attach the strut to the tower as well as the big nut that threads onto the strut shaft.

i have the platic covers on. well, it's more like rubber, right? just top nut of the strut... that portion sort of tilts at full lock.

well, i actually had an air wrench while installing, but we hand tightened the top strut portion. the part where there are three nuts are fine. that part doesn't move. it's the part in the middle of that section. so the strut, i guess... i would retighten that nut, but i can't get to it with my tools.

the problem i had when installing my springs was with tightening the main bolt on my strut too far...... i stopped at the 5th thread bc after that the rubber part that has the arrow on it got pushed under my spring so that there really was no spacer between the spring and the metal.

make sure you have the bolt as tight as possible without pushing this rubber tube under your spring. take your wheel off and check for that first
