Default TRD or TEIN H-Tech

Which springs would be better. I will give some conditions, I have a 2006 Xa. I live in houston and roads are a nightmare. There are usually ramps to enter places such as gas stations and such. I dont want too rough of a ride if possible, but i am willing to sacrifice ride for performance. I am planning on eventually entering some Auto-X events. I dont know which ones to get. I have found websites and they are both within about $20 of eachother. So what do you guys think?

The TRD springs ar not as stiff ast the H-Tech. i went through the same thoght process you are. Stock spring rates are 134lbs for the xA. The H-techs are 129 front and 179 rear. TRD are advertised as 10% stronger than stock so about 147-148 lbs. They are not as stiff in the rear as the H-tech which will give a little softer ride although stiffer than stock. Get a set of Monroe Sensatracs for the rear. They will run you about $40 and will help dampen the stiffness. That is what I did and the car looks great and there is not much difference in the ride. It is a little stiffer and is noticabley flatter in the curves. I have since added the Progressive sway bar and that was money well spent also.

I'm loving my hotchkis springs. They're around 1.5" drop. I may be crazy, but I swear that the ride seemed smoother than the stock springs until I put the front strut bar on. I'm running 235/15/18. Below is where I found some of the best prices. Hint too, if you decide to get front and rear hotchkis sways, then there's a great deal on their TVS Stage 1 kit on intensepower.
