Nice looking wheels... great price.

I was fairly impressed with the nankang ns-1 tires I got with my tire and wheel package. I would check them out.

I have 17 x 7 in rims, 215/40/17 Toyo Proxes4, and lowered 2"...I like the 215/40/17, almost perfect for stock size so the speedo is fairly accurate...However, when they need replacing, I will go with the 215/45/17's...More side wall protection and to help fill the fender well a little better...By the way, I love the Toyo Proxes4 tires...

is there a determined size that I SHOULD get?

because its strange that I'm getting 205/40 and 205/45 recommended.

If you are looking for a tire that is going to be as close to stock diameter as possible (mostly for the purposes of keeping your speedo as accurate as possible) you will want to go with a 215/40/17.

Some people want more sidewall for a better ride, more protection for the rim or for cosmetic reasons. For these purposes you can use a 205/45 17 but your speedo could be substantially inaccurate.

The over diameter of your stock tire is around 603mm
215/40 17 – 603.8mm
205/40 17 – 595.8mm
215/45 17 – 625.3mm
205/45 17 – 616.3mm

So 215 is better for the car, but 205 looks better.

I'm curious are you sure that the 215 fits the rims I got?
