Default How do "BAGS" work?

Hey everyone, well I just wanted to know how do AIR BAGS really work? I want to drop my box , but it looks like itll be some tough work, and also, how do you drive? i heard that when you drive it is up like regular, its just you MAKE it drop low. when ever u stop or whatever, and also.. is it like hydraulics or sumthin? and where can I find some decent BAGS for a VERY DECENT price, like just for the "Beginners" so i can try them out, and now blow a hole in my wallet?

Bags are run off of switches. The switches control the air going in and out of the bag. If you want to drive, you hit the appropriate switch to let air in the bag so that raises you up. If you want to slam it, it's usually the same switch you just used but you push it the other way. Yes it works just like hydraulics but without the hydraulic lines and fluid or batteries. Basically you get a compressor, an air tank, some air valves to send the air to each bag and take it away, a switch box, some airline and th ebags themselves. I know some companies make kits for the xB's. But you can go on suicidedoors.com and they make the best airride stuff i've ever seen. Of course they don't have anything made specifically for us yet but they do have good deals on airride kits.

First thing, you're in the wrong forum...there is a Suspension & Handling forum

Read The Definitive Pneumatic Suspension Thread . There's quite a bit of info on air suspensions there.

airbags that are cheap will perfrom as such.

acutally you can get a decent system for less than that. thats very expensive. i bagged my truck for half of that... thanks to jason at suicidedoors.com. the only bad part of havng air is in the winter. the valves tend to freeze when it gets to cold. if anyone has any questions about bags, let me know i'll be more than happy to help you out.

I paid over $1200 less than that, unless your friends also bought the optional solenoid valve and remote control.
Their front suspension setup is very nice, but the remaining components aren't very different than other less expensive xA/xB specific systems...especially for the kind of money they're asking.
