Default windshield issue?

Somehow, my xB developed a nice crack (not from a rock, btw) coming off the driver's side, about halfway up, from the side going horizontal for a couple of inches, then straight up toward the roof.

Dunno how it got there. I just bought my xB about 2 weeks ago, so I'm naturally ____ed off about it... I hope the dealer will take care of this! There is no starring from a rock... seems more like a pressure crack than anything else.

Just wanted to inquire whether this is more of a common problem with xB's in general than anything else.

Thanks in advance for any/all help!

My roommate had a crack in his windshield of his xb as well. He went through his inurance and it cost him nothing. if you want the same glass go back to the toyota body shop and have them do it there. Just tell your insurance that.

Default *whew*

so it sorta worked itself out... I took it back to the dealer, and figured I'd start there. Guy comes out and takes a knife to it (never seen that trick before) to see if there are any jags in the crack, which according to him indicate the point of collision. There MAY have been something like a rock to make it crack, but it's so close the dealer decided to replace it free of charge. So I lucked out on this one. I imagine I need to check my coverage on the windshield stuff, in case this happens again! I'm pretty sure they won't do TWO windshields on my box!

either way, I'm getting a new windshield for the box, free of charge!
