I hope I can get a quick awnser I know someone selling 235/45/17 and was wondering if that size was to big for my 17's on my xB I am running 215/45/17 right now....Please help

that would depend if your lowwered and what rim width? if 17 x8 or17x7 makes diff . im on 17x8 /215 40's and no rubbing but w/drop a 235/45/17 on 8wide rim will probably rub in center at full lock. remember the mid # is a percentage ie; 215/40/17 means 40% of 215mm is sidewall and 60% is tread width so thats .40x215mm=86mm/for both sidewalls div by 2 = 43mm sidewalls each side and 129mm tread width.
next
45% of 235 div by 2=@53mm of sidwall each side or 10mm taller tire w/tread width staying close at 129.25mm
go look if front is at full lock could you clear extra 10mm even under suspension travel

I am running 225/40 18s and there is rub, not much, but it does rub. I think a 235 might be too wide.

Thank you everyone for your input I just could have picked up a set for 60.00 for all 4 w/15,000 miles on them and still look brand new

 

um 215/45/17 is too big.

you want 205/45/17 or 215/40/17
