Do I buy Tein, Goldline or TRD struts, shocks, and springs. Not too many people are getting the TRD it looks like?

 

The TRDs lower the xB slightly, but the ride remains harsh and uncomfortable, not to mention the price TRD charges for the springs is too much. That's why few buy them.

Teins lower the xB about 1.2"-1.5" all the way around, and provides a soft comfortable ride.

Goldlines lower the xB 2" all the way around, and also provides a very soft and gentle ride.

With any of the three, your cornering will be improved and body roll will decrease....it just depends how low you want to go.

Local SE member Bill Turner (ScionSpecialistVegas) is a dealer of the Goldlines, and you can get them for just over $200 installed through him. He can also install any other springs you buy for $50 in about 30 minutes.

What should I get then. Like a said I really dont want to lower it, I plan on putting 18's on my box. I just want some sportier shocks and that stuff.

 

Quite honestly, I'd suggest coming to one of our local meets (next one is on the 28th at Scandia) and see what you like. I used to think that my box would look great lowered a certain amount, but once I saw another box like that I changed my mind.
You may find that you want it lowered 1", 1.5", 2", or even 2.5"+ via coilovers instead of what you had in mind.

Then, based on the measurement you can look at what springs offer that stance and go from there. Even with 18"s, you can lower an xB more than 2".......

 

I know the next meet is at scandia, i work at 6:30 till 2:30 in the morning, so I wont be able to make it. My co-workers sister works at scandia. But anyways thats a good idea, maybe one of these times a can take a look at some other XB's.

 

Based on everything I have read, the most comfort you will get while at the same time not lowering your ride much (compared to others) and still getting a good value would be the Tein H-Tech springs.

I'll be able to fully answer you with details, in compoarison to stock, how comfortable they are after my install this weekend. I sometimes get to ride in my friend's IS300 lowered two inches and I couldn't stand driving around paranoid the way he does scared of scraping everywhere I go or having to look for a spot in the parking lot that has parking barriers that aren't too high. I can understand not wanting to run into things but, that seems like it would take all the fun out of driving.

Anyway, I've said it before the boxes I have seen dropped and slammed are really nice looking and much props to the people that can ride this way, you are braver than I, or something...

with the choices given by you...i would go with tein because u dont really want it dumped like i do........

 

Teins are deffinately the cheapest option by far. Either H-Tech which is about an inch or S-Techs.

when u change ur springs do you need to change ur shocks and struts also ?
