Im getting ready to purchase a compressor for my airride set up. would it be better to run one air zenith compressor or should i run viar compressor. also would a adjustable pressure switch the way to go or not. everything will be mounted under the car out of site.

Either should be ok. Bigger is better...fills faster. I have a Viar 460 it is ok.

 

how big is your tank or tanks? i have only a lil crappy viair 380c for my 5 gallon tank untill my AZ comes in... it takes really long so if u get a viair get a BETTER one.

If I had to pick, I'd run 2 smaller compressors over one large. That way even if one breaks, your not stranded.

 

would it be even better to use 2 big ones or not? someone told me my alternator would mess up if i use 2 AZ compressers....

 

not sure, it depends on the load they pull. Check the specs on them, but I seriously doubt 2 would pull more then most big amps do. They won't exactly hurt the alternator, but if they pulled enough amps it could shorten the life of the alternator and the battery.

**Edited*** After looked at the specs for the AZ. They are fused at 50amps. So they do pull some juice. I doubt I'd run 2 of them on my box....

 

i have 2 viair 380's and a 5 gallon tank, fill time is good with 2 but it draws close to 40a and the AZ are rated at 40a each and running two would kill the battery quick because with mine i notice that all the lights dim and the voltage gague goes down to 13-13.5v range

 

so i thik two is out of the plans for me... cuz im ddind mor amps for my stereo system. i have one optima yellow top right now would it help any if i got 1 or 2 more?

 

get a bigger alternator or a high end capicitor and you should be fine i got a 2 farrad just to run the compressors and it helped alot
