Default 15" Summer Tire recommendation

Last spring I replaced my steelies with 15" Konig Heliums and used the stock tires. I've decided to put snow tires (Winterforce) on the steelies and am looking for a decent summer tire to put on the Konig's without spending a bundle. Any recommendations for basically replacing stock tires for summer?

Putting on H-Techs's when I switch wheels/tires in the spring if it matters.

Thanks in advance! Ken

kumho ecsta or toyo proxes or falken ziex. those are pretty decent for the money.

Falken Ziex ZE-512s are really nice especially in the rain and are really cheap. I got them for $30 something each for stock sized ones.

Thanks! Where did you get the Falken's? I see Sears has them and I have 3,700 reward points on my Sears account thanks to a washer/dryer/dishwasher purchase.

Also saw that Sears has Sumitomo HTR H4 - P185/65HH15 in a "buy 3 get 1 free" for $79 ($237 for 4).

Falken Ziex ZE-512 - 185/65HR15 are 56.99 ($22 (with price match if somebody else has them cheaper)

I have Yokohama AVS ES100s and I love them. A very sticky tire!

The Falken ZIEXs all the way. I'm a big fan of BFGoodrich G-Force Sports as well, they're a little more spendy than the Falkens.

The ZIEZ tires are technically an all-season tire, whereas the Yokohamas are a "summer" ultra-performance tire. I don't know if that matters or not, but I thought I'd throw that out.

Default Summer tires? (^_^ ) ?

R-compunds:
Kumho Ecsta V70A
Toyo Proxes RA-1
Hankook Ventus Z211 or Z214
Nitto NT-01

Not quite r-compounds, but very sticky:
Falken Azenis RT-615
Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212
Kumho Ecsta MX

Regular summer tires:
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
Toyo Proxes T1R
Hankook Ventus Sport K104
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2
Yokohama AVS ES100
Kumho Ecsta SPT
Sumitomo HTR Z II

All season, but still good for summer:
Falken Ziex ZE-512

How about weight and rolling resistance? I still haven't found a good way to compare and I want good handling and great mpg.

My plan also is to get light alloy rims for 3 season and use the steelies for a winter tire when the stocks wear out (so far they seem fine for light snow).

Haven't seen Kuhmo 711's mentioned yet. Hella bang for the buck.
