Default Lowering spring install

Greeting, I just bought my "06" XB this past weekend. I also bought the TRD lowering springs for the dealer as well. I would like to get them install but the dealer states that it will take at least 2days. Is there a performance shop here in tampa that will be able to do this install ?

Here is a link to a thread I found that details installing springs.
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...nstall+springs
It is easy to do. The only thing that takes particular attention is when taking the springs off and on the front struts. First there is pressure on the top strut plate so you must compress it when you take the big strut bushing nut off (2 people one pushing and one helping stabilize and turning the nut worked for us). When the nut comes off if you arent holding the spring well things may spring off and fly around BEWARE!! The top of the strut rod has a key which must be properly engaged in the upper strut bushing when you reinstall it. You must make sure the key is aligned with the slot in the bushing. Again for reinstall 2 people is best. You align the key and one guy pushes the spring down to keep things engaged while the other applies the big nut. With a 2 inch drop spring this is pretty easy...with a 1" or so drop like the TRD's there will be more tension but less than there was with the stock springs I bet. IF you can not get them back together, or are concerned about removing the under tension original spring many mechanical repair shops have a strut compressor specifically for changing springs for a nominal cahrge I bet they would mount them on the struts for you. (If you decide to do this yourself it might be a good idea to find a place that would do this ...just in case. I did mine by hand by myself with one person with a helper it would have been easy)

Yeah, super easy on this car. I compressed the fronts by hand, and had my wife get the nut started...nothing to it. Took me 2 hours, but only because I went superslow and careful with everything.

hey, fellas thanks for the info. I was able to get the job done. I used the TRD spring which gave me about a 1in. drop. It look good with the 18" rims and the ride is still the same as stock OEM. Thanks
