Default Widest tires you can fit on the 15'' stock alloys?

I want to get some better performance tires after winter. I have the optional 15'' alloys on my car and I do not want to get aftermarket rims. I want to know what the widest tire I can get on those rims. I'm not sure how wide they are. I would like 205s but not sure if they fit or not.

Where can you even buy 210s? Never heard of that. 205 and 215, but never heard of 210s.

My bad, ya, they are 205/50/15...they fit...they actually raised my car up for some reason even though they are lower profile

Well the Falken Ziex Ze-512 is a 23.2" Tall tire (When in the 205/50R15 size). The messuring rim width for that height is 6.5". Im not sure how wide the stock rim is though? 5.5" maybe? If so then you pinch that tire down 1 inch, that would cause it to make a slightly taller side wall. So depending on what size you had before this could be why.

The correct size for a 205 should be a 55 series tire, not 50... take a look...

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

A 50 series is a smaller diameter.

 I go off of JDM stock tire size of 185/65R15. I want to get 195/60R15 to keep about that size when I get my xA.

Yeah I might go 195 because I don't want my tire being squished and getting taller. I don't know. I think I will get more peoples opinions before I get new tires.

Our fitment team recommends the following 15" fitments for your XA:

185/60-15 / will fit on 15" wheels in widths of 5.0" to 7.0"
195/55-15 / will fit on 15" wheels in widths of 5.5" to 7.0"
205/55-15 / will fit on 15" wheels in widths of 5.5" to 7.5"
215/50-15 / will fit on 15" wheels in widths of 6.0" to 7.5"

Like what Roger said. 205 and 215's will fit. I run a 205-50-15 on a stock wheel that's 6" wide. I may run a larger ratio next time. 205-55-15

I think I'm going 205/55R15 than.

What made you go with a 205/50R15?

I'm considering the Falken Ziex ZE-512 Tires as a replacement for the stock Goodyear Eagles.

NEW SIZE: 205/55R15

Here's the Specs and Ratings:

http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...=Ziex+ZE%2D512

When you compare the stock 185/60R15 with the Falken 205/55R15, the Falkens change the Speedo as follows:

Speedometer Difference: 0.550% too slow - Diameter Difference: 0.55%

Check out a tire size calculator like:

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

Put in the stock size 185/60R15 as Tire-1. Experiment with Tire-2.

The Falken 205/55R15 seems like it may increase ride comfort and still retain (or improve) performance. The 185/60R15 Michelin Harmony are another consideration, but very pricey.

EXPERTS: Please provide further comment. Thanks. :D RPM
