Default need help, change of plans...

i posted before about getting some 17" Motegi TrakLites. well it seems the webpage i was looking at had mis-type on the discription. i went to Motegiracing.com to checkout all the rims they have. well, seems the 17" traklites are 8" wide and not 7". offset on them are +42 and they are one piece forged aluminum wheels. so i'm wondering what size spacers i would need? i'm looking to use 40 series on them, most likely 215mm wide tires and i'm looking to have a clean flush look meaning the tire walls are about flush with the sides of the box. anyone help me on this? i'm guessing, hub spacers right?

lookin at getting these...

Yup. hit up Stylis for OTG's and hit up the folks at Pep Boys for universal 4 lug spacers. I did that with my 17's awhile back. do the OTG's first, then check out how much more space you have to work with.

hah it'll be some time before i'm able to get them. i'm doing all the planning ahead of time so i can just get it all at once instead of runnign to problems here and there.

first on the list - fixing the damn front bumper...

after that, possibly the wheels and then the audio.

With a 42MM offset and an 8" wide wheel you may not be able to space them out very far depending on how low you are. 42MM is as far to the inside as will fit in the rear, so that is good, how much space you can come out from there tho depends on drop (are the fenders rolled?) and tire size. With my 42MM 7.5 wide rims I went 5MM and really can not go more without rolling the 1/4 panel wheel lips, but, I am bagged and the clearances get really tight only when I am dropped near all the way. If you had a pair of 5MM you could put both under 1 wheel just to check clearance for 10MM spacers. For checking you could be use a few washers on the studs to try a certain spacing. (DO NOT DRIVE THIS WAY) Once you did this you would then know what spacers to buy after measureing the thickness of the washer stacks that worked best.

well drop wise. as for right now it's the stock suspension but when it comes to the performance side WAY later down the road, i i think i'll only be going from the 6" ride to maybe a 4" and i'll be using the TIEN SSP kit. but for now i'm still sitting at the stock right hight.
