Default Spring Advice?

Like I said in my intro...I'm new to the import cars stuff and I know damn near NOTHING about most of it. Hopefully I'm not screwing up by posting the eBay link.

So....

...anyone use these, or know anything about them?

Are they decent? I would like to lower my xB, but I don't want to have to do any major work to it. In fact, the less I have to have done, the happier I'll be.

You get what you pay for... there's no way in hell those would ever go near my box.

The question you should ask is: "How low do I want to go?"
Go from there... Tein, Tanabe, Eibach, Progress, Hotchkiss, Goldine (who am I missing?) all make quality springs. Some ride softer, some harder.

I have Tein H.Tech, I really like them, I'm on stock 15" and it dropped about 1.2", the handling is nicer, and the ride quality is still nice.

A lot of people have pretty strong opinions either way, but it's your box, so the choice should be yours. Just buy quality stuff and you'll be happy.

Also, springs are not major work at all, it's pretty easy.

I'm tired and rambling... good luck.

Thanks for the input. I figured those had to be too cheap to be true.

Basically, I wanna lower the box, but not sacrifice very much ride quality. I just want to eat up some wheel well space. I'll be keeping my 15" tires and adding some after market rims.

thanks again for the input.

I used 2" drop Goldlines for a while before I went to air suspension. The ride was better than stock and the drop looked Oh So Nice I made no other suspension changes at that time, stock shocks etc in use. Do get an alignment if you lower as the toe-in can change enough to make it worthwhile to re-align.

Cool...I was wondering about the shock situation. All of this new car stuff is a little confusing. On my 50's and 60's rides I new what would work and what I needed to do. I really want to make some mild changes to the box, but I don't want to screw it up...it's my first new car in about 20 years.

Ted...that fade on your xB is really smooth, man. Maybe one of the nicest fades I've seen in a long time. Winfield and D'Agostino would be proud.

Thanks!! I had not painted an overall Kandy on a car before. It scared the crap outa me to paint it especially with the fade. I practiced a few times on some panels and then on 1/2 an old datsun pickup cab. After that I took a deep breath and sprayed the xB. I am glad I did it now

Anybody have any input on DF210's? Decent ride, or will I be bouncing all over the interior? Also...a 2" drop will eat up a fair amount of wheel well/tire gap, right?

thanks for the help.

dunno about df 210s but a 2" drop looks best in my opinion. and yes it will fill 2" of tire fender gap.

I've got the DF210 and love'em. A 2" drop is perfect, unless you go with coilovers or bags. I did put monroe shocks in the rear to make it smoother, Rides just as good, if not better than stock.

I have had stock ( killed my back on short trips ) Tein H-Techs ( nice ride, but not low enough ) and now i have had my Progress for almost 2 years now. The Progress springs have the lowest drop i have seen to date. I say this cause my GF has the Goldlines ( which ride just as bad if not worse then stock ) and when her and i are on our winter wheels; stock Scion 15" twists, i sit lower then she does. It drives her nuts, but she doesnt like the color of the Progress Springs.

Like i said, i have had the springs and the rear sway by Progress for over 2 years now, and everyone who has gone for a ride in my B likes it and some have even switched over. I think Jeff ( aka LIP from partshippers.com ) over on the sponsored sales has some of his suspensions on sale. I bought the package for around $300 i believe, and worth every penny.
