This one comes with bushings, that a nice touch.

thanks, and yeah, i like how we could change out bushings depending on how stiff we want it, even though i'll probably never change it to the harder bushings.

Its very nice to have the option to adjust the ETD to your needs. The DME ETD provides just that, with the different bushings.

not to hijack your thread, its a great DIY - just thought i'd add a few more detailed shots...

this is what the bracket looks like when properly bolted to the engine. note the order of components:

bolt -> washers -> bracket -> metal cylinder -> engine

this is the strut bracket correctly installed before bolting it down:

if you have a strut bar, you'll need to put some washers on the right strut (if facing the fron of the car), to fill the gap that the strut bracket creates on the left strut:

aaaand some random pictures....

represent that

great mod, i recommend it highly. shifts feel smoother with the ETD. cabin noise is a little more but not too bad, at idle is when its the worst.

ahh filling in what i missed. i just did the same thing this weekend, except using 4 home depot washers on both strut bolts. also, while i was going washer crazy, i laid down 1 on each bolt under the bracket for the ETD on the passenger's side, because i noticed that it isn't level. thanks for the add-on!
edit: nice engine cover btw tceeder

yeah, i got those at advance. i only used one on each as they were pretty thick to begin with. i used the black bushings, if the vibration/noise isnt crazy bad i might put the red bushings back in.

Very similar to the ingall's etd...
although there is nothing in this diy about setting the pre-load which accounts for cabin noise.

ETD write-up with preload adjustments and considerations for s/c installations:

to be honest, i'm not sure... i never launch hard.. or i rarely do, but i could definitely feel a lot more power to the ground.

I'll have to try those if i ever get annoyed. but as of now, i'm totally fine with the extra engine noise. i actually like it. and a quick fix for me would be to turn up my stupidly loud subs lol. but thanks for the links. i'm sure it'll help a lot of people with even this etd.

I have the ingalls torque damper and was talking to one of the vendors at the irwindale triatholon a few weeks ago. I told him that i still had alot of wheel hop and that when I took off from first i would year a loud clank noise. He told me i needed to tighten up my torque damper. I havent done it yet though because the intructions i got with the damper was "DO NOT ADJUST LENGTH". Has any one heard of "tightening" the torque damper. It doesnt have to do with the bolts. They are super tight.. trust me!!

whats with the stack of washers on the bracket that connects to the head, are they suppose to be like that, why not just the right size bolt, just wondering if you guys were sure it was installed right?
