i've talked 2 HIDretro and they wanted to charge me 1400 for the one with angel eyes m3 HID one :T
i spent about $400 including all the misc. wiring stuff and leds and ccfl rings. $1400 seem like the going rate from hidretro. they are charging you about $$1000-1200 in labor because the parts are about $3-400.

even though retrofitting projectors is still illegal, you won't have much troubles with the police because there won't be any glare from the projectors to blind people or make you stand out from the crowd with purple 12000k lights. you'll blend right in with the rest of the OEM HID cars like bmws and mercedes or lexus.

yea, its best you readup on the materials on their "university" section of the forums. alot of how-to and other useful info there.

I spent the entire day sunday in the garage and still weren't able to finish the job. i started 5 am in the morning. aiming was easy and only took 30-45 minutes. the rest of the day was spent building wiring harness and wiring up everything. it also didn't help when i had to run to ace multiple times cus i keep on running out of heatshrink tubes. its taking me forever because i want to do everything right by soldering and heatshrink-tubing every connection. i still have to glue the bezels on and reassemble the headlight and more wiring. hopefully i can get most of it done tonight and put the bumper back together tomorrow night and finish in time for the august tech article contest.

once again good job
how much time did you put into it? as i read on the first page, you august review or something like that? i bet the outcome of that will be good due to the hard work you have put into it!

btw the design of your retro headlights is very very nice!
