anytime you mess with anything electrical, it's recommended that you disconnect the negative cable. i don't think anything will happen if you don't, but it's best to play it safe. i would think nothing will happen if you're only using one. what if you use both at the same time?

how much did you pay for it?

sorry, i just read my post and perhaps i wasn't clear when i said using both. i mean, why don't you try using both the lexus horn and the tc horn at the same time? it might turn out to be an interesting combo!

A couple of my buddies used these horns. Go to the products link, click on the car icon on the bottom left side and click on the GP/GPA series.

I did the install yesterday. Your instructions were well done, but they've changed the relay from your pictures, so future installers should double-check the Hella instructions.

Yes, it is significantly louder than the stock horn.

Here's the stumper, though. I discovered this morning that while my windows will roll down, the automatic part of the switch doesn't work any more, and the switch on the driver's side doesn't roll down the passenger's side window any more.

Any thoughts on what may have gone wrong? I disconnected the battery before I started working, and I never did anything that should have affected the doors in any way.

I appreciate anyone's insight!

you need to reset the windows and sunroof. read your owners manual.

I'd never have thought that I needed to reset some computer. It seems to have reset itself, though. Thanks for the help!

@mdMike: I can't; I have no way to record the sound. Sorry.

I=W/V...according to Hella horns spec....72w max....so I=72/12=6amps...if stock horns has a fuse of bigger than 6 amps..do i really need a relay at all? unless two of them added up to 12 amps...just a question..72w each?

i just bought some PIAA sport horns.

i installed them, but when i tried them, they sounded the same as the stock horns. and its not noticeably louder :/

in the box, it came with 2 horns, 2 ground wires, and an instruction manual. no relay or anything. can this possibly be why they arent louder? do i need a relay?

no... that's not a possibility of why they're not louder.

you don't need a relay
