I'm in the L.A. area and would love to see a 2000GT in person. Is there an event or a museum/collection that is viewable to the public now or in the near future?

i believe you can see a 2000GT at the petersen museum in LA. There is also a 2000GT at the corporate headquarters in Torrence. If you can get to South Florida I can show you one. Suggest you get a copy of Shin Yoshikowa's book that will give you all the answers.

The Toyota Museum in Torrance has 3 cars. One or two might be in for maintenance. I think one is going through a complete overhaul to bring it back to it's past glory, when it belonged to 60's model Twiggy.
The Toyota Automobile Museum is Private but open to tours by appointment.

The Petersen has one, but I think it's kept tucked away most of the time (in their over stock, the part of the collection that is hidden from prying eyes most of the time).

There was one at the Blackhawk Museum. Not sure if it's still there.

Coming up on May 13th is the All Toyotafest in Long Beach, CA. Plans are for Toyota to bring out their trailer with several different cars, hopefully a 2000GT will be among them. If I learn more I'll post it here.

From what I heard, Craig Zinn collects 2000GTs. He's the owner of Lexus of Pembroke Pines in Florida. Apparently, there is a hidden garage at the dealership that houses most of them.

Yup, he posted the third post in this topic.

Cool, I am pretty sure that I am going to hit up ToyotaFest. It should be fun!

A quick note about Toyotafest, if you plan on participating, it's PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY this year. Head over to the TORC website - http://www.toyotaclub.org - for registration details. I think all the Scion spots are full right now, but they do have a list for stand-by. Openings are still available for Toyota and Lexus vehicles.

p.s. - FYI, I'm the Manager for the 2000GT MSN Group

I will be going as a spectator, since I am flying down from Portland. Thank you for that note, though!

i know a few Toyotafest people were there to support the event too.

thinking they might bring them out again this year.... not sure about the F1 this year though.. but hehehe... they had it last year and it brought goosebumps hearing that thing rev around 19K...

Hey, sorry to revive a dead post guys, but does
anyone know where I can see one of these in
Florida? I called the Miami dealership wanting
to see if they had one, but they just hung up
on me.

Out of 351 built, only 60 came to this country according to Wiki. I'd say your chances are slim. Try heading to California for your best bet.

Yeah. Just figured out of the ones in this country
Florida would be a good state since there's no snow
and it's sunny most of the time. Good on cars.
