Default The xB needs.....

-Side Mirror Defrosters
-Better lighting for their gagues and other accessories.
-Reclining Back Seat
-Front seats to go back futher for taller people

-For example. Sometimes the frost is bad when I wake up and I have to actually get a paper towel and wipe off my side mirrors because they do not have defrost.

-If I want to adjust my mirrors or turn on my fog lights I have to feel around and kind of guess where the button is. It's just an inconvience.

-It would be cool to recline the back seat back to watch the flip down TV.

-I'm only 6'1" and I still find myself trying to move the seet back more. Even with the front seat totally back when I sit in the back I fell like I have more leg room.

Would be neat, but adds cost and people don't expect it in this class.

Sure, why not. My 6-7 friend can sit as comfortably as he does in most cars up front, but he could actually drive it comfortably if the seats went back further. I agree they should. There is PLENTY of room back there after all!

I live in Arizona so thats not an issue too often, but most people would benefit from heated mirrors I suppose...

Just what I said. It's kind of hard to find some of the accessory switches when it's dark.

I'd also like one of those lights around the ignition. That's be nice.

Also,
If the could re-design the doors and make it where you could rest your elbow on the door when you are driving. Raise it up about 4-6"

I understand some of these options would raise the price of the xB. That's why they are options. If you don't want them don't get them.

I know they should all be standard....

Then you are short. I would have to slouch to rest my arm on the door. If they could raise that up a couple of inches it would benifit everyone. Even the short people that rest their elbow on it right now s it is.

Ok. Go in your garage or wait until it's completly dark outside. Now get in your car and turn the lights on to where you can see the speedo and the A/C controls. Now look all the way to your left for the Side mirror controls. Hard to see in the dark? What about the ignition switch? I'm sure you don't have trouble finding the ignition hole but for people like me it would help if there was a light ring around the ignition so I could easily find it. Like in more expensive cars (Don't try to use that terminology against me because it wouldn't cost them $20 to do this. ...)
What about your fog lights? You don't have fog lights? Anyway I am sure every dealership installs the fog light switch differently but mine put the switch under the A/C. It's not lit and I don't know how difficult it would be to make it a lighted switch but it would be nice. Let me know if you aren't getting what I am saying and I will take pictures for you.

i know what you're saying and by the way i'm 6'1". I know where all my stuff is. I guess you will get use to it. maybe its cause I have the interior lighting on all the time. you should replace the switch with a lit one. and maybe put an led or 2 by the mirror thing

Ah, I gotcha now. I don't have any trouble finding the ignition, but a light around the cigarette lighter would be helpful.

Right, but what you don't seem to understand is options make the car more expensive to manufacuture and sell all the way from the factory down to the dealer, where they have to shuffle cars to find the one with the options you want, then wind up with cars with less popular options packages they have to discount, or swap with other dealers and so on. This way it's simple. What color do you want? and do you want an 5 speed or an auto. That's it.

Despite the fact it's been explained here many times before, many still don't seem to grasp a large part of the reason these cars are such a good value is that Toyota deliberately builds them in a "monospec" fashion. It simplifies production and streamlines the whole process.

It might be nice if you could buy a $11,000 xB with no power windows or a $18,000 xB with leather, 2 sunroofs, a V6 and navigation----- but the expense to try and cover everything people might want would drive the price up across the line.

Right, but what you don't seem to understand is options make the car more expensive to manufacuture and sell all the way from the factory down to the dealer
Whatever then. I'll do everything myself and be better than you....

Ignition hole light ring - $50
Reclining rear seats - $200
Mirror Defrost - $150
Better lit gagues (the mirror adjust ect) - $300

Design cost for adding these options....... $47million dollars.

Is this not the dear scion section where we post ideas to the Scion god's? I understand the big picture and economics behind making changes to a vehicle. But thanks for clearing for the broken hearted 15 year old kid that's a part of this forum and would like to see the options I listed on his scion the he plans to buy as soon as he turns 16.

Reclining rear seats - $200

if you can do that for 200 bucks let me know how cause i would love to be able to do that for just $200. I figured something like that would be more expensive
