Drove a 2007 d-cab with the 4.7L, this truck was awesome it was an sr5 package in silver. Not only did the fit and finish look great but the ride was nasty. I dont know if the new rear end made it feel torquer or made it feel faster but this thing got up and left. The shiftronic mode was really nice too, it shifted smooth and was responsive. Visablity was great with the big look outside and then the gigantic mirrors, the interior was hot looking too real big accents, dual climate control and a bumpin 6 disc stereo, all while riding on 18's.

 

Just drove a 5.7L SR5 Singlecab 2WD, man that thing is fast! We have a little road out here calle Roller Coaster Rd (and it is just that). Took it through the corners using the shiftronic, and you're right, it was VERY responsive and smooth. Much better than I anticipated. Great job Toyota, love the truck!

BTW, hit the gas going into a corner and the Stability Control goes to work instantaneously reminding you that you're in a truck and not a sports car.
