my yaris is already ordered and supposed to be in at the end of the month. silver streak mica, no options 5 speed (i mean, NO OPTIONS... it comes with a/c, but I dont even want power windows, or remote locks.. seriously.. if i need that stuff, ill hop in my supercharged tC). BUT i want some major MPG's... ALL my vehicles right now run premium fuel. so when I make the switch at the end of the month ill finally be getting atleast 35 mpg out of the yaris. On yarisworld.com some of those guys are hitting 40-45 on a regular basis.

By my calculations, me selling my v8 work car and getting a yaris, the yaris will BUY ITSELF in 5-7 years of gas savings. again, I went with the CHEAPEST, no options at all car in a 4 door sedan. plenty of room, good mpg's, and its a toytoa. resale value on these will hold up VERY WELL due to the MPG ratings. Same with the fit, but its more expensive.

I'll chime in.

I actually join here a while ago, had planned on getting an xD but decided on the Honda Fit after a few test drives. I drove the Yaris as well.

I would say the Yaris hatch is a great pic if you go for the base model, price wise it is very affordable, but once you start adding popular options, like ABS and SAB and so forth the price comes up rapidly and you are staring eye-to-eye with....the Honda Fit.

Now, if you test drive them both like I did, you will find it pretty difficult not to notice how much better the Fit drives and handles and how much more functional the interior design is.

I love Toyota. I've owned 7 of them and this is my FIRST Honda so don't get me wrong.

I do think in this particular case, for this particular driver, Honda got it just-right. The Fit has all of the room and cargo flexibility I loved about my 1st gen Scion xB, but does it in an even better handing package that more aerodynamic and relaxed at highway speeds.

If you put your biases aside for a moment you will quickly see the Fit was designed and engineered with a great deal of attention.

Things are quite a bit different these days. The Yaris has been selling in Europe for 7 years now.

Check out this one:

There are plenty more at:

Personally I don't like the way the Fit looks. And I don't drive cars I think are ugly, unless they are free.
