I had a little thread going on a possible Banned List.
Now it's gone.

Any clues?

I saw it too, but I think Darren stepped in and put a stop on it as it may cause issues down the road. The post basically said "NO" just to sum it up for you.

I'm not sure about where the post went, as I didn't touch it, but I'd be pretty confident that it was deleted as it probably isn't in the best taste... and definately isn't the best for building up the community by focusing on individuals who violated the rules to the point where their accounts were disabled.

I could attest to the fact that individuals are given Many, Many chances to come around... and focusing on those individuals once they are gone isn't the most appropriate and only ends up resulting in division and conflict, which helps out no one.

I'm personally not to down with the whole "Banned List" idea for that reason, and I'm sure that other mods and such agree as well .

 

I wouldn't be totally surprised, Jon.

There are SOOO many forums that allow a lot more in terms of rule breaking and although he may have broken the rules, banning is pretty extreme. Maybe a 'time out' system could be implimented?

x_rayted711, that was tried over a period of more than a year, and specific promises were made with the understanding that breaking the terms of those promises would result in a ban. You are seeing only ONE of many problems.

Anyway, this is not a topic with that as a focus. Before it was hijacked, it was a topic questioning what happened to a prior topic.

Strange, I can't find that thread either. I had replied that there is no publicly visible ban list and I didn't have any plans for creating one because no one cares. I think I locked the thread... I wonder if I hit the delete button on accident? Either way, it isn't necessary.
