editing the site during business hours
Please do not make changes/backups to the site during business hours. I have run across php/sql errors in the past and am not sure if its because of changes that are being made or just issues with the setup. you guys do a great job keeping things going but please test things out in a test area and implement them during offpeak hours. Its very easy to monitor things from another network and having scripts do their work - i know how much of a pain it is to do things offpeak.
keep up the good work.

Business hours? Whose business hours? The only time I ever work on the site is when I am working, so they are MY business hours.
Hence, if the site is getting worked on then it will ALWAYS be during my business hours. Whew.
Or maybe your business hours? Perhaps you could email me your work schedule so I can work around that. Can you get the other 30,000 members to email me their schedules as well? That way I can find better opportunities to improve things when no one is on.
Damn, I am so sarcastic. I should really lay off! Bad Darren! Bad Darren!
Seriously though.... you do have a very valid point that I should choose non-peak times to implement changes, but the problem is that I enjoy sleeping at night. The weekends are pretty slow, so that is why I am playing with the site right now. Plus, I don't really have anything else to do at the moment. I am done for now, no more SQL errors, sorry about that!

it sucks - i it was just that i was looking up a few things and knew that your site had what I needed to research. its all good - if updating during peak hours is your week point ..thats pretty good. the site is doing well and there is a lot of knowledge.
only thing i was saying was that you can test the same things out on a test domain and see exactly how an image just like your site will handle certain things. time sucks man - i can easily tell ya that - and i know you know what its like. if you had a test setup you can take more time on new things that way you have weeks to look things over.
