No pics in sigs
OK, I've posted close to 200 times on this forum with no mention of my sig not being allowed. Now someone has PM'd me pointing out Rule #5 which among other things states no sigs, avatars, or smileys allowed in posts. Here it is:
5. I will keep my signature free of images or cluttered text.
-No Pictures, Icons, Avatars or Smileys.
-Only 1 to 10 lines of text (including blanks) are allowed
No one has ever mentioned anything about my sig, though I do see in the rules you're not supposed to use pictures. But what about the no avatars or smileys? I see an entire grouping of them sitting to the left just waiting to be used.
So should I drop the sig pic? And what about the smileys and avatars?
Thanks,
Jim

I think you should ditch the sig pic. I am on other forums where they allow sig pics and it is very annoying. I find it much easier to read through a thread without a bunch of pics all over the place.

the rule was implemented for the exact reason that you have provided.
large pictures clutter a forum topic and are more annoying than anything else.
depending on the smily or other images.. as long as it does not attract an unwanted amount of attention.. (like your large picture).. than some people just overlook that.
your picture has been removed from your sig.
having gotten away with it before does not imply that it isn't still against the rules.

OK, now get this, I found the place to edit your sig but I cannot find the tags for the pic in my sig? Oh well, I'll keep looking and I'll go ahead and ditch the pic.
Thanks.
Thanks.

yeah.. the tags for the pic were already removed... probably why you couldn't find them..
(that was me that removed it btw)..
sorry for the inconvenience, but my reasons were stated in the post above.
