The pages should open fine.

Is anyone still experiencing the issue of it throwing error messages when trying to open the last page of some threads?

Haven't run into one since about 2:30 PDT. Explained it in the follow-up email.

Just have to wait until I run into the first post on a new page to see if it can be reached directly or not.

As I said, it has been years since we had that problem. (Anyone remember wyldkard?)

Ya, I was trying to remember before what caused that... and I seemed to remember it was the mass deleting of someone's posts from the db (instead of from the forum software) that f'd up the indexes or something. Must have been for him.

7:55pm - 8:00pm EST.
received this for 5 minutes straight:
Not sure is its because of the maintenance though

phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database

also received the lovely and always funny "SQL Error : 2006 MySQL server has gone away"

Hope something gets fixed by tomorrow with all these errors. I've built some PHPbb boards from the ground up on dedicated servers and these errors usually occur when the server cannot handle larger queries or batches. By default I think MySQL sets max_allowed_packet = 1-16mb. Larger databases that require intensive queries due to bots or mods may require this value to be increased overtime. I'm not sure if this is exactly related to SL's issue but it would be one of my guesses along with some others but I'm too tired to type anymore.

They really are working on this, guys.

We may be able to fault them letting it get this bad, but the folks trying to fix it really are trying hard.

All I can say is I hope they are able to fix it, because the other options are NOT good.
