Squirrel to replace George as a Mod?

Squirrel to replace George as a Mod?
So as a lot of you probably know, George is not a Mod anymore. An idea that arose was to have the citizens of scionlife elect a new mod rather than the "king" who usually does. The majority of us live in America right? So why not give democracy a try? One person who comes to mind to fill the position is squirrel. If you take a look at his record, he has not only been a member of this site since July 26, 2003, but has also averaged almost 7 posts per day during all of this time. Admit it, he practically lives on this site. Squirrel has already said that he would become a mod if given the chance, he is on this site enough, and currently is jobless. So what I would like for everyone to do, is vote yes or no on the poll attached as to if you would elect squirrel as a mod or not. If your vote is no, I would like you to also post a reason.

jobless? I thought he was a cop. and where's george? man I'm lost.
brad would probably make a fine mod. being helpful is different than being a mod, though. brad helps just about everyone (including me, thanks dude ) but isn't modding more like babysitting? brad=teacher. mod=babysitter.
and as for the "let's go democratic" thing...this isn't america, it's a website. I have no doubt that darren will listen to the input from his visitors to his site, but ultimately the decision is up to him. as it should be. I've never seen him act as a big meanie tyrant or anything like that.
it's his house, we're just crashing on the couch.

Is this for the tC forum specifically or for the site in general? It's posted here so I assume its for this part of the forum. No offence to Squirrel -whom I am sure would be a fantastic mod- but I would tend to vote for a tC owner to mod the tC forums. Also 90% of squirills posts are in his regional forum and off-topic. Don't see him much in hte technical forums.
EDIT: Why wasn't this post made by a mod? If the position is "open" shouldn't the board staff be on board with this?

(Yes, it's Darren's house and we are just partying and crashing on his couch, but we are also what lets him charge admission to some to come in and watch us. While it's not a democracy, and it's 100% up to Darren to set the tone and make the rules, without a few thousand participants any site like this is DEAD.)
Squirrel's been interesting and helpful here on ScionLife, and even though he's been on the edge in a 'situation' or two I fully believe he would step up to the 'mod job' and do a good job. I found in over 25 years of managing people that most grew to fill the jobs they were promoted to.
Off the top, I suspect straw polls like this can make site admins nervous and a bit uncomfortable, but I also suggest that it gives a good 'feel' of the site denizens...

Well, the new mod (if there is a new one) will be chosen by the current moderators. Any new mods will be announced once they have been appointed.
