Default Suggestion for each forum secion

Reading thru each topic... be it ICE, Exterior, Wheels etc..... there seems to be lots of topics that come up over and over again.... bad radio reception, rattles, static shocks, etc etc...

maybe for each forum should make a sticky/announcement and list links to some of the best threads that discusses each trouble and possible fixes....a FAQ list of sorts

kind of like the post that has links to various "my scion is xxx color post up pics of same"

just a thought.... cuz no matter how often others suggest "use the search" some1 else will always start a post a bit later asking same info

It's a good idea and all.. but honestly, the time and effort of compiling such a list and figuring out what would be added to it would all be completely wasted when every n00b will just come in and post what they want anyways...

I have seen that on other websites and I think it is a good idea. I really don't think that it will stop the noobs from posting the same questions over and over, but it will make it easier to send them links to the correct info. I will figure out how to do it sometime this next week.

On a related note, what I would like to see is the Sticky/Announcement threads seperate from the rest of the posts. Kind of like on the NRG site:

I created this a while back:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=89149

I takes care of my tC peoples...

Is that kind of what you're thinking though? Except no so much of the "issues" part but of general info?

On a similar vein, when those 'same questions' are asked over and over, each one gets like 20 different answers - 16 of which are just plain wrong.

I've asked/suggested repeatedly to have some sort of 'flag' that could be set for the 'right' or 'really good' answers, so that when one searches - especially a n00bie - and gets 20 threads, each with 20 answers, and only four out of those 400 answers are right, they can be identified.

It is very difficult for someone who is searching BECAUSE THEY DON"T KNOW THEW RIGHT ANSWER, to separate the wheat from the chaff... They NEED this assistance.

Can something like this be considered???

Yeah something like that... could also be issues... maybe 1 for "whats causing this/how to fix" and 1 for general info

I really think this will make some of the stickies and such stand out a bit more. Now they don't look like regular threads.

OK, as far as the topic of this thread.... here is the ruling of Judge ScionLife:

I encourage that SOMEONE create a topic that lists important threads, etc, like what was done in the tC forum. I don't necessarily think it should be me, though. I would like to see the community get one up there, and a moderator can upgrade it to sticky, then someone from the community can update it as necessary.

I am still going to work on a way to make the parts and tech databases more integrated with the forums... but that is another story. So, for now, this thread is closed.

Go ahead and create a new topic and label it the "official information sticky for the xB" or whatever. In that, start listing links to the important topics. THEN - hit the "!" report button for that post and request that the mods upgrade it to a sticky. It shall be done!
